Being a planner is a bit of a solo gig, you don’t often get to hang out with other planners, but who could understand your colorful wedding stories better than a fellow planner? Represented were: Brandi of Blissful Events, Francesca of Campo and Co. I love the spirit of this get together, all these women in the same place, more friends then business competitors. In case you are wondering, that delicious looking cocktail featured blackberries and brandy, and yes I had one… err…two myself. Of course the lovely ladies of Blackstone Karen, Danielle, and Shannon were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and enjoy in the festivities themselves. Rentals Unlimited covered the tables in shimmering gold and black and white striped linens. Stoneblossom decorated the gilded tables with gorgeous spring blooms of tulips, sweetpeas, and succulents, and ranunculus. Don’t get me wrong, by nature, these women love to cater to others but I think we’d all agree it’s nice to be the recipient of the pampering from time to time. It was also literally and figuratively refreshing to see them sipping a signature cocktail and enjoying an delectable meal instead of bustling around taking care of their clients. Talk about pulling the curtain back and revealing where the culinary magic comes from! They asked us if we’d photograph the event and of course we said yes! It was lovely to spend a little time with our favorite party planners, wonderful women that we hardly ever get to see outside of the events we work together. MOMCares offers doula services, workforce training, and support for Black mothers and families. MOMCares is a Baltimore organization founded by a local mother who went through unemployment, homelessness, personal tragedy, and premature birth during her motherhood journey. As Alan Fink, Lucy’s grandfather, reminded us, “a family simcha (joyous occasion) can be turned into a philanthropic action and supports our community.”īringing a child into the world is one of the most joyous things imaginable, but it can also be scary if you lack the support that many families are blessed to have. This was the perfect chance to bring everyone together. He loved the idea, and Heidi introduced him to an amazing organization called MOMCares. In honor of his new granddaughter, we suggested working with an organization that targets newborns and mothers and had happened to have hired us to assist them with their annual Friendsgiving Award Gala the following week. So, when he called us and told us about adding in celebrating his Granddaughter’s baby naming, we immediately saw an opportunity to do something amazing that combined the baby naming with a chance to give back to the community and we knew just how! Giving Back and Having Fun In the past for one of his Bar ‘Mitzvahversaries’, we created centerpieces that were donated to Camps Louise and Airy, and our client funded scholarships for children to attend. In addition to all this celebrating, our client wanted to include a mitzvah project in his event, as a way to give back to the community. However, this year he also honored his new granddaughter and celebrated her baby naming. Every year, this client sponsors the Kiddush luncheon at his synagogue on the anniversary of his bar mitzvah. One of our longtime clients came to us in need of assistance in planning a special event.
